Ward Campout

We braved our first camping trip with 2 kids. It turned out pretty fun. (Late night of course, but still fun)
Libby is some kind of butterfly whisperer. She seriously caught at least 3 butterflies and held them in her hand (without killing them too!) She was pretty happy when the "Bushup" (bishop) found this pink butterfly net for her to use.

Elliot and his buddy Kenneth were trying to break into the bishop's trailer for a long time

I'm sad we didn't get a pic from the outside, but this is our gigantic tent. It literally says "vacation home" on the bag and fits a million people (okay probably 10 comfortably, which is still a lot for a tent) And it's tall enough to stand up in. My mom got it for us last Christmas and wanted to last us forever. The kids particularly liked this little storage/play area.

Hmm...where's Libby?

Peek-a-boo!

There was a zip line swing we all enjoyed going on

Kinda squishy with the 3 of us...

Elliot was obsessed with getting water. He wouldn't touch the homemade rootbeer though, which just meant more for us. Yum.

In the morning after he climbed in bed with Richard

The boys got to sleep in....Libby and I were up at 6 am :(

We camped near these windmills. There were a couple on the property.

A bunch of windmills on the drive home.

They were so tired, it wasn't too long after we got in the car that they looked like this

and this :)  Yay for naps!

Camping

So our camping trip wasn't quite as awesome as planned, but we still had some fun. We went with Julie and Michael up to Riverside campground somewhere near Ashton Idaho. Libby loved being outside and finding all the cool rocks and sticks to pick up. She liked looking at the fire too which we kept having to keep a close eye on her so she didn't get too close. After we were all set up, we made foil dinners and ate smore's. We got a portable toddler bed/cot thing for Libby and had that set up in the tent... We made sure she had her favorite blankets and toys too. She would not go to sleep though. So she stayed up with us. She learned the word "moon" though which was cool. She isn't usually up late enough to see the moon but she now will recognize it in pictures. It was quite impressive. When we decided she definitely had to go to sleep we went in the tent with her and tried everything we could to get her to lay down. She randomly would start crying for Julie and was yelling "JUGEE! JUGEE!" like Julie could somehow save her from the tent.We finally decided to just lay down and pretend to go to sleep in hopes she would too.  She thought it was great fun climbing over us and sitting on us and poking us and probably fell asleep around 11 pm. It was freezing in there and since Libby was sleeping with her head leaning on me, I felt like I couldn't move to a more comfortable spot or she would wake up and got very little sleep. Libby woke up a few times in the night and was up with the sun around 6 am and was a big grump the rest of the morning. Eventually, Libby and I went and sat in the car with the heater on and ate twizzlers and crackers to calm her down, while everyone else took down the campsite. She fell asleep in the car before we had even gotten out of the campground though. Then we went to Mesa Falls and took turns looking at the falls while someone stayed with the sleeping baby. She slept a good 2 hours and was a happy girl the rest of the day. Here are some pictures.
