1 year Anniversary

For our one year anniversary we decided to go on a cruise. It was a 3 night cruise from San Diego to Ensenada Mexico! First time for either of us to go to Mexico. We left on Richard's birthday Nov 20th. It was a very stressful day. We left Seattle and had a lay over in Oakland, CA before continuing to San Diego. It was suppose to only be about 1 hour for the lay over, so we thought it would be fine. We'd still get there around 2:30. Unfortunately we didn't know our plane from Oakland was coming from Reno where there was a blizzard. Our flight was going to be delayed until 4:30 or so! Not getting us there till after the cruise boat was suppose to be leaving port. This was not going to work. After standing in the customer service line 3 times, Richard and I were finally able to get someone to do something for us. All the planes were booked and they didn't have a back up plane. This very nice Korean guy took pity on us and booked us onto an already overbooked flight leaving at 2:50. He handed us the boarding passes very discretely and told us not to tell anyone. The unfortunate part was that our luggage would not be coming on the new flight and would be staying at the San Diego airport
all weekend, we decided it was worth it. When we finally got to the boat we relaxed for a bit, ate some food and waited for the gift shop to open so we could buy a change of clothes, underwear, deodorant, etc. W watched Star Trek in our cabin to relax after the stressful day. Saturday, our anniversary we were at sea all day.
Since we didn't have our swim suits, we didn't get to try out the cool water slide and pool. We went mini golfing and ate lots of yummy food and played some cards and just relaxed. In the evening, we watched the show, which was called Spin. It was fun, lots of singing and dancing; They sang songs from different parts of the country. Sunday we were in Mexico! Yay! We decided not to do any of the tours and just wandered the town on our own.
We went into lots of little shops and bought a couple souvenirs. There were street vendors about every 10 feet selling almost exactly the same things. Kind of ridiculous. On our way back to the boat we bought some delicious churros and almost had them stolen from us from some little kids. We felt kind of bad for not sharing. Back on the boat we indulged in some more yummy food and enjoyed another show. This one was a hypnotist/comedian. It was very entertaining to watch. When we got back to San Diego on monday we had a few hours to kill, so we found a movie theater and watched New Moon, which was the only thing playing at the right time. It was pretty good, we enjoyed it. The flight home was pretty uneventful. It was nice to be home and with Thanksgiving that week, we only had to work Tuesday & Wednesday! I wish it were that way every week.
