Libby's Music Insight

So I'm writing this here mostly so I don't forget. On the way to church today we were listening to the BYU-I radio which plays churchy music. Most Sunday's Libby will say things like "this is a sleepy kitty song" or really random things like that. Today she said "mom, this sounds like a sad song." (there were no words, just instrumental) I asked her why she thought it was sad and she replied "I think it's because Jesus died". It was sweet that she could feel and understand the spirit of the song. I just love her!

Jobs

Richard is graduating (fingers crossed) on April 11th! There was a career fair here last week and Richard scored some interviews already. He's interviewed with McAfee (Idaho falls), the Church (Salt Lake), {insert company name I forgot}(Indiana), and a few others. Those are the ones that went really well and seem promising. If you want us to move near you, please send us any information you have about Software Development type jobs in you area :)  I am kinda hoping for a job in Washington to come up b/c I  don't want to live in Utah and Indiana is so far from any family and although my BFF lives in Idaho Falls, the winters here drag on forever. Plus everyone in our families goes to Washington to visit at some point during the year anyway, it seems a convenient place to be. I'm really excited for Richard and it's so great to see an end in sight. It feels like we've been in school a really long time. If you added my school time with Richard's it's been like 8 years of college.

Preschool!

Libby started preschool a few weeks ago! She absolutely loves it! She has made lots of new friends that she talks about all the time. She is trying lots of new foods (they serve breakfast and lunch at her school, which means I only have to deal with preparing snacks and dinner for her) I was so excited when she ate a taquito the other night and asked for more, she usually refuses to eat them or takes a mouse size nibble. She seems to be a bottomless pit these days. I think she is growing. At first it was really weird not having Libby around in the mornings (Mon-Thurs), but it's kinda nice and quiet. I get to spend some 1 on 1 time with Elliot, go to the store with 1 kid instead of 2, and I babysit Tue & Thurs the entire time she is gone and I think it's a lot easier than having 3 kids at once. She seems to be learning and having fun and gets to hang out with other kids her age.

Libby loves: PINK! anything and everything that is pink!
Her favorite books are The Fancy Nancy and Pinkalicious series.
Obsessed with candy.
Dresses and skirts-she seriously refuses to wear pants, so I had to buy every color of warm tights available at walmart since it is getting chilly outside and I don't want her to freeze.
Taking toys from Elliot or standing in front of the tv while he is trying to watch a show
Drawing & art projects. She will draw 20 pics a day sometimes
Best friends: Emmett & Alivia; school friends: Reagan, Hailey, & J'aisha
Favorite movie: toy story 2
Posing for my etsy shop Minnie mouse listing
She is so cute

She picks out her own clothes most days. She is getting pretty good at matching too

Wrote "MOM" and was starting to write her name at the bottom. We're still getting the hang of writing the letters in a specific order, but there's an L & B

Preschool orientation. She had to wear her Minnie mouse apron

Learned to ride her scooter

Few funny quotes from Libby lately:

She told me this one day "Last night when I was sleeping, a prince came into my room and gave me a kiss. It was a magic kiss because it was a LOVE kiss! Did a prince come in your room and give you a love kiss too?" I couldn't stop laughing, it was pretty adorable and cute. I tried to tell her that daddy was my prince and he gave me a magic kiss, but she wasn't so sure.

A couple nights ago this is what she yelled to Richard when I asked her to tell him dinner was ready. "Dad! Come get your food from the lady who is the food lady!" Apparently I have been reduced to "food lady" She called me that several times that day. What a goof!

Almost 2

I can't believe it's almost been 2 years since this cutie surprised us! He is such a joy.

He might not talk a ton, but I think he is pretty smart. I've been babysitting a lot and I've come to be very grateful for my children's great attention spans. Elliot has been able to sit through a movie for a really long time, I thought all kids this young could, but apparently not. If I get out blocks or cars for him he sits and plays for a long time too. Some days it drives me crazy when I have to babysit and the kids just don't play longer than 2 minutes with something and get into everything. I'm very blessed with such awesome kids :)

I love watching Elliot play with cars, it's so cute. HE makes these funny growl/vroom car noises as he drives across the room and then lines them all up like they are stuck in traffic.
He also can make decent towers. I think the record is 7 blocks without it falling. (I think mine is 10 stacked 1 by 1 like that, so 7 is pretty good)

See that ball...it's about to come in to use
and no more tower! Elliot loves to attack his towers or lines of cars with balls using great sound effects.

5 years!

November 21st will be our 5 year anniversary! Kinda crazy. We thought we should get some updated pics done and McKinsie did an awesome job. Richard and I aren't the most photogenic sometimes so we were pleasantly surprised by these. Can't wait to get them printed!

Libby is so beautiful!

Love my little kisser! He is the sweetest kid.

I love Libby's face in this. I'm pretty sure it's a fake laugh.

Oh la la. I think the only kissing pics I've ever had were engagement and wedding ones.

I just love this kid

Love this one!

Cute busy kids

We love Summertime!

These are totally out of order, but that's okay. Here's a few things we've been up to this summer!
I have been sewing A LOT! I tried out a new stitch on my sewing machine. I think it looks really pretty on the Rapunzel apron. I was hoping to get a spot at our farmer's market, but since they were supposed to notify me last Monday, I'm thinking I didn't get it, but I've been working on my inventory for my Etsy shop and it's been fun.

Guess who got a haircut! I have never seen such blonde hair get cut. Even Libby's looks pretty brown when it's cut, but Elliot really bleached out this summer

Kids love the carousel!

Elliot loves the splash park! I take them a couple times a week!

Libby started Gymnastics in July!

Go TEAM!

We grew a flower

We tried to grow lettuce and baby carrots....they aren't doing so great now though since I'm horrible with plants and watering them and also someone named Elliot keeps digging in it.

Libby and Richard can eat an entire cantaloupe in 1 day.
Playing with best bud Ellie before she moved to Florida

Libby loves to play hair dresser. She is quite talented.
