I hate poop and dogs...sorry for a poop post, you may not want to read this

One of the many reasons I will NEVER EVER own a dog is the whole picking up poop off the ground thing. That is the grossest thing I could ever think of. Well, apparently having a toddler means I get to do this anyway. I do not know what to do with this girl. I duct taped her diaper on 2x and Richard gave in yesterday and let her wear pants over her diaper (she refuses to sleep with clothes on, it's too hot). Today she really did need a diaper change so I took the duct taped one off nad tried the pants tactic since she was whining about the tape. She took the pants off (after I put her back in bed) as well as  her poopy diaper while she was supposed to be taking a nap. There were poop pieces scattered around her room as well as a million wipes she used to clean her own bum, some of which she put back into the wipes container covered in poo. A few days ago when she did this I actually stepped BAREFOOT onto her poop. It was horrible. While I love all the funny things Libby can say and do at this age, I HATE potty training and this diaper removal stage. I don't know how to get her to keep it on!!! I locked her in her room till Richard gets home in 20 minutes. I'm pretty sure she is trashing it as I type.....One more thing to do before we leave for vacation tomorrow.....yay

THis is random, but I cannot find our tent anywhere which is very problematic since we are supposed to be camping tomorrow night.....And I am sleep deprived. Someday Elliot will sleep all night again, right?

Elliot bytheway is ridiculously close to crawling. He'll do maybe one crawl step and then slide out on his belly or go back to sitting. He seems more and more motivated though. I think it will happen any day now.

Also, I really truly hate dogs. I think my hatred for them has grown stronger since picking up LIbby's poop and the fact that they have to ruin perfectly good grassy areas by peeing on it all the time. Truly disgusting. I try not to influence my children too much by this hatred, but I did say something about dogs being gross the other day. I'm not sure if Libby noticed, Richard did. I'm very grateful that Richard shares my disgust for dogs though. I can't imagine being married to a dog lover. I am sorry if I have offended any dog lovers who may read this blog. Dogs and Horses are the worst animals though. I should probably end before I get even more carried away by my reasons behind these feelings.

One more thing, so we had a bbq thing with some people Richard knows and we had our 2 cute kids and then several people brought their dogs and the whole time everyone was talking about the dogs and how adorable they were. I wanted to barf. I mean did they even look at our children??? Umm...way cuter and do way cuter things then some dumb dog. Really people?

crafts

One of my favorite Libby phrases right now is "Mom, can we do a craft together?" Yep, she's definitely my kid! We sure love our crafts. Sometimes she asks me this several times a day. I found this awesome website that has these cool alphabet crafts. The letter looks like something that starts with that letter. We''ve done A (aligator), B (bumblebee),C (crab), R(rabbit), H(house), and I (iguana) so far. Plus a few random flowers, the flag, and a popcorn tree. Its a lot of fun. I admit, I do most of the craft....but I do have her help with the gluing, coloring, and placing of the objects. I try not to be too OCD about her placement and try to direct her close to where it should be. They also have the lowercase letters, which will be fun since Libby doesn't know those yet. When we do a letter, on the back of the page we list all the things I can think of off the top of my head that also start with that letter. It's fun.

Baby comparison

Elliot 8 months

Libby 6 months
They definitely have some similarities, but they look quite a bit different. Libby has more hair for sure and they have different head shapes. Both have the big blue eyes and Richard's nose and are both super cute! Thoughts anyone?

sweet spontaneous hug :)

gogurt popcicles! Yummy!

4th of July

Waiting for the parade to start

Me and Elliot

Richard & Libs

The parade was really long, so we went to the park for the last part and enjoyed the swings

She would swing all day if I would let her and push her "higher!"

Made us some festive desserts

We set up our tiny little pool for the kids

Libby wouldn't hold still for a picture

Me and Libby did a 4th of July craft project together
The tablet never published my post, so I finally downloaded the pics onto the computer. It was a Fun fun day. Parade, park, good food, swimming, crafts, relaxing, and fireworks! The fireworks were literally across the street from our apartment, so we went out and watched and got Libby out of bed so she could see them too. She thought they were pretty neat, but got a little scared during the finally because it was so loud. She told us she needed to go back to bed. It was nice to have a day together where we didn't have church, school or work--we don't get enough of those. I've always loved the 4th of July, maybe because my bday is 2 days later, I don't know, but I always have good memories from this time of year. This year was a good one too.

Firsts

We had a few firsts this week!

Libby got her first haircut! Mostly just bangs and a little trimming in the back. She keeps saying: "I look just like Sleeping beauty and cinderelly!"

Right after the haircut

In case you are wondering, she is naked probably 85% of the time if we are inside....I don' tknow why she hates clothes so much, but whatever. I don't care that much.
Elliot is getting his first tooth! Just barely poking through, so it's too hard to get a picture of it yet, but it's in there, trust me. No wonder he's been a bit clingy and a little grumpy the last few days.
Love this face, not sure if I posted this picture before, but it's so cute it deserves to be here 2x if it was in fact in an earlier post

we were trying to get him to get up on his hands and knees, but he wouldn't bend those legs and stayed in a bear crawl position for awhile. maybe he'll just bear crawl instead.
One of my kids is super photogenic...guess which one :)
Seriously, all I have to do is get the camera out and he smiles his adorable smile at me.

so I wrote a 4th of july post on the 4th with pictures, but i did it on the tablet and apparently the blogger app for the tablet is retarded and it is still "publishing" it. I will have to put the pics on the main computer. stay tuned....

conversations I never thought I'd have.....

Mostly these are for me so I can remember the things she said as a 2 year old. They make me laugh. Who knew 2 yr olds could be so hilarious

Libby: I want a snack
mom: what do you want to eat? apples, graham crackers, carrots?
Libby: POOP!
mom: Eww Libby, you can't have poop
Libby: I WANT TO EAT POOP! (chanted repeatedly while I ignored her and got something else for her)

Sometimes I do not know what goes on in that little girl's head

Mom: Libby you're smart. You have a smart brain. Your brain is inside your head.
Libby: open it?
Mom: open what?
LIbby: my head.
Mom: You can't open your head
Libby: I wanna open it. I wanna see the brain!

Libby (sitting on the floor pulling on her toes): Scream
Mom: What Libby?
Libby: Off! I need this off! (continuing to pull her toes)
Mom: your toes?
Libby: yes! (more exasperated screams) I need my toes off!
Mom: Libby you can't take your toes off. You need them to help you walk. They have to stay on your feet
Libby: No! I need them off Mom!

Libby has also started to make up stories, which are pretty entertaining:

L:A black monster was at the dr's office and it trying bite me!
M:oh no! what did you do?
L:I climb into the cart.
M:did it try to bite mommy and elliot?
L:yes. And woody and buzz were at the drs with us.
M:what about woody? did he save us?
L:no. the black monster bite woody. but, the aliens save us from the black monster. the black monster is scary.
M:did the aliens protect us?
L:yes, aliens protect us from the black monster.

After nursery this week she told me she protected Eli from the monsters. :) So funny.

Libby brings her 2 child chairs into the middle of the living room placing them side by side. She climbs into one and says: C'mon Woody it's time for our lesson. You sit in the blue chair.
M: what are you doing?
L: We're having a lesson in our nursery class. We go to primary. (She then continued to chat with an imaginary Woody about things that happened in nursery.)
It was pretty darn adorable. I convinced her to sing to me songs from Primary.  Oh and she told me "Heavenly father loves me!" SO CUTE!
