Article of Faith #2

Video of Libby saying the 2nd Article of Faith. I love how she tries to say "transgression".

"We believe that men will be punished for their own sins and not for Adam's transgression."

Easter Fun

Happy Easter! The Saturday before Easter there is always lots of Egg hunts going on around town. We went to a community one at a park nearby and Libby was lucky to get 1 egg! She still loved it and both kids were happy to spend time at the park! Luckily our apartments are awesome and do an egg hunt for the kids in the space between the apartments. All the kids came away with way too many eggs. Libby and Elliot have been in sugar heaven since! I should probably go hide most of the candy so tomorrow isn't another sugar coma day.
Family picture!
(Waiting for the hunt to begin.) Elliot LOVES being outside! He throws a fit when it's time to go inside.

"Mom, look at my cool trick" I hear this a lot a the playground. She is pretty cool!
Eggs!
See that huge cheek and the string of drool? Yep, big chocolate piece in there.

Couldn't wait to start eating the candy!
Today Libby went to Sunbeams and learned all about the resurrection. It made me so happy to hear her tell about Jesus! This is one of the versions she gave me today: "Jesus died for a few minutes and then he was in the cave. Then he was alive because he got resurrected! Mom, I'm alive and so are you!" She is adorable. I found a cool egg resurrection lesson that we did tonight with Libby, she really enjoyed it.

Quick kid update

Libby memorized the 2nd Article of Faith! We'll try to record it soon and post it!

Elliot is trying to run already. He only gave up crawling last week, but whatever.

I keep forgetting Elliot can walk and pick him up and carry him randomly b/c I don't want him crawling on a gross floor. I am not used to having 2 toddlers.

Libby is starting to get good at tracing letters/numbers. She'll be writing her name soon. She is also getting a lot better at drawing, not just scribbles anymore. There are crazy stick people and fish and balloons and "L"s all over those pictures now.

Elliot is getting into balls and cars and it's really adorable to see him walking around the house with them. He also loves to carry colored pencils, which is really weird, but I think he sees them as sticks and what little boy doesn't like sticks, right? He is big into stacking things up too and of course knocking them over (Libby doesn't appreciate the last part so much, I hear a lot of "No elliot, that's bad!" followed by exasperated sighs and tattling. I find it amusing and try to reassure her that it's Elliot's job as a brother to knock things over. She doesn't agree with me)

I sure do love these 2 kids and I'm going to go play with them now!

Etsy

So I started an etsy shop back when Libby was a baby (there's a link to it on the right side bar if you scroll down) . I got a few sales on my tutus and hair clips, but not enough to really make much of an effort with the shop. Well, recently I decided to start it up again with some new items. We have a mini crib and when we got it, I realized it's hard to find sheets for them. the ones i found were pretty boring too. So I made one. For some reason it only recently clicked that other people probably have the same problem with finding these teeny tiny sheets. So on Monday I posted 3 different types of mini crib sheets (flannel, cotton, and minky) in many awesome fabric choices. By Saturday I had 2 sales! {Victory dance} I'm pretty excited, less than a week and 2 sales is pretty good. i'm hoping it keeps going well, especially with all the fabric I've bought and sheets I already made....I"m also working on some fun dress up clothes to add to the shop; Mostly aprons that look like princess costumes or superheroes. (aprons are much easier to put on a kid than a full costume, is my thinking). There is this one etsy shop that sells really cute princess aprons and they charge $60! They are cute, but not worth $60. I made a practice Snow white one and it cost me probably less than $4 to make, so I'll probably sell them for $12-15. My goal for my shop is to charge a reasonable price for things, I never buy things on Etsy b/c everything seems way over-priced and I usually figure I can make it or find it on Amazon for a better deal. I assume other people feel that way too.

Anyways....that's pretty much it.

Wet

First off, I've hardly seen Elliot crawl the last 2 days! Hooray he is finally walking!

So sometime during the night Libby peed the bed. She has no memory of this. From what I can tell, she got out of bed took off her wet underwear and kicked the wet blanket off the bed, then got back in bed (naked) and went back to sleep. Normally if she pees the bed, she starts crying and comes to get us and we have to change her clothes, bedding, etc. Richard was a bit surprised to see Libby walk out of her room this morning totally naked. She claims someone came and pants-ed her in the night. It took me a good 30 minutes to find the wet underwear this morning, hidden under some innocent looking stuffed animals. Not my favorite hide and seek game. Libby still doesn't believe me that she peed the bed, but she definitely did. Why is it always the day after I do laundry that she has accidents?

We Believe

Libby has memorized the 1st Article of Faith and is about half way through memorizing the 2nd one. We made a little video of her a few weeks ago saying the 1st one.

"We believe in God the Eternal Father and in His Son Jesus Christ and in the Holy Ghost."

Little walker

I've decided Elliot wants to completely master this walking thing before he commits to it. He is probably walking a little more than crawling now maybe 60/40. He's been able to do it for quite some time now, but he just won't do it all the time. He is able to change directions/turn around while walking and catches himself before he falls all the way down and stands back up. He can also pick things up and walk with them. Pretty skilled, but not ready to commit to walking all the time. Such a funny little kid.

How cute is Elliot in glasses?!

Elliot is communicating a lot better these days. He will bring me the wii remote and sign more when Curious George is over and throws a nice tantrum when I don't turn it back on. (tantrums have become a regular part of the day now) He brings me toys and books when he wants to play and will often throw bottles at me if he is thirsty. New words: "night night", a few animal sounds.....can't think of any that haven't been mentioned before. Elliot is into everything these days, I really need to do some better baby proofing. He dumped the trash can in my room 3x yesterday. Libby dumped a gallon of bubbles on our carpet yesterday though, so I guess she wins for biggest mess...again. Luckily the Higginson's came to the rescue with their carpet cleaner. I think most of the bubbles were sucked up. It's still a little spongy feeling. Oh well.

Funny girl

A few funny things Libby has said or done recently

L: I don't want to be a gymnast, dad
R: oh do you just want to be a ballerina?
L: yea-no! I just want to be a dinosaur!

L- (scream)
B- whoa
L- what was that about?
B- I don't know, what was it
L- a cow
B-no what was the scream about?
L- it was just a cow, he was screaming at me
B- OK....

In locker room with dad after swimming:
L- dad! I saw your peepee privates!
A few minutes later as they are getting ready to leave, richard turns his back and Libby disappears. He assumes she went out the door. She really had gotten inside a locker and closed it so she could scare him. It worked :-)

Libby has started calling bras, boobs, so when we were at Kmart, she noticed the underwear section and started saying " mom, mom! let's go look at the boobs!" Over and over again.... She has these dress up ballerina doll things and to her some of the leotards look like bras to her so I often hear her talking to herself saying "OK, now this one needs some boobs, hmm where are the boobs".

Got to love having a very creative, easy to understand 3 year old! I sure do love her!
