Washington

During Richard's last week of Spring classes, we realized we had a week between spring and summer semesters. We decided to go to Washington! I didn't think we'd be able to go see anyone for awhile unless I drove with the kids by myself. We drove all the way there in 1 day. It took 15 hours! We found out the hard way that Elliot gets car sick, yeah, twice...Thankful for Dramamine for the way home. Didn't remember to get pics of everything. We did a lot of visiting in the 6 days we were there. Visited Sarah and her family in Lynden, Jessica and her new baby, Jennifer, Jeff & Brittany, Andrus's, Grandpa Hill & Aunt Alice, and both sets of parents! Busy week.

Swings on the side of the house are a big hit

We went to Manchester beach with Brittany and her kids Evalyn and Brooklyn. We didn't realize the tide would be so low or else I might have remembered swim suits. Elliot didn't care and got soaked and very sandy.

Elliot got buried in the sand, he was pretty pleased

Loves for Grandpa!

We went to the Seattle Aquarium. The kids loved waving to the scuba diver

He was a big fan of the Jelly fish

So excited that she was brave enough to put her hand in the tide pool

So tired on the way home.

L:ibby convinced grandpa to take us on the ferry for the ride home! The kids thought it was pretty fun

Visiting with Grandpa and Aunt Alice! We had some yummy lasagna and a fun round of Mexican Train. Alice gave Libby a crown and clip on earrings and she was sooooo happy! She'd never worn earrings before and they were PINK. I asked her if they hurt and she said "It's okay if they hurt a little bit mom because you look so beautiful!" Haha! So cute.

On road trips growing up my mom would pack squirt guns and we'd have water fights at the rest stops sometimes. I thought I'd be fun to carry on the tradition. It was pretty fun, but I didn't make Libby wear shoes and she got stung by a bee on her foot! Darn it! Oh well, we now know that neither kid is allergic (Elliot got stung on his foot a few weeks ago--it crawled into his sandal!)

I found these awesome Monsters Inc suckers for the car ride. The kids were pretty entertained by them. Elliot kept growling cuz that's what monsters do!

Richard and his audiobooks

We got very sticky...but it was worth it.

Jelly fish Libby. Don't know why this one is at the end, but i'm not fixing it...

We made it home in one piece and Richard started his summer classes the next day. (New Testament and Foundations Capstone). We are excited to see more family next week in Utah!

Dentist

Did you know that laughing gas makes kids really really wiggly? I didn't until yesterday and witnessed Libby on it at the dentist....

26

Yesterday was my Birthday! It was a really fun one too! We started out the day by not sharing the bed with Elliot till 6:30am, when lately it's been more like 2 or 3 am due to some teething. I felt so rested, which was good b/c we had to get up earlyish to go running :) It was a color run and awesome. We had a babysitter for the kids and Julie and Michael came too. After the run/color festivities, we walked home and had a KFC picnic and ate ice cream cake. It was delicious! Then I got a little nap. :)  I also got to go to my favorite fabric store in town, Porters, and found some sweet deals on fabric. Gotta love finding fabric for 1.88/yd! After dinner we went swimming and since Libby wore a life jacket, I actually got to swim without holding a child which felt so good compared to just walking around. Finished the day with finishing up a huge project/etsy order! Productive and fun day!

Julie and Michael. I don't know if I would've been as cool as Julie and done it 8 months pregnant! Go Julie!

After the run, but before the big color festivities

Ditto. I didn't get any final pics, but we were much more colorful

Elliot's war paint. He was so confused as to why we looked so weird when we got home. He kept doing double takes

Libby really wanted some color on her face

Yay for swimming! We go at least 2x a week I think

4th of July

We started out the day by attending the Rexburg 4th of July Parade! Libby enjoyed catching candy with the other kids near us. She was pretty fascinated with the gymnasts and really mostly wanted candy. Elliot liked all the horses that came by. He sure loves animals right now. We didn't make it to the end of the parade b/c we were too hot, so we walked home and put Elliot down for his nap. We went to Julie's house for dinner and then to the Idaho Falls Chucker's game (baseball). We didn't make it to the end of that either b/c the kids were all a little restless. It was still fun though. We drove home and let Libby stay up to watch the fireworks which go off right across the street from our apartment.
